ANVIL BRAND SUMMER CLINIC
Anvil Brand Shoe Company will be hosting their summer clinic on Friday, August 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Lexington, IL
The featured clinicians for this year’s clinic will be members of the current AFA Team: Bryan Osborne, Bodie Trnka, and Andrew Wells.
*Bryan is a farrier currently living in Kentucky. He graduated from the Kentucky Horseshoeing School, is a member of the American Farriers Team, and is a former infantry with the US Marine Corps.
*Bodie is a second-generation farrier currently living in Minnesota. He has an Ag-Business degree from New Mexico State University and has earned his Journeyman Certification from the AFA. He has been shoeing horses for about 10 years, is a co-owner in the World Championship Blacksmiths, has competed for several years at various competitions, and has been fortunate to make the American Farriers Team for two years. His future goals include further popularizing the farriery profession and pushing an education through competition agenda.
*Andrew is a farrier currently living in Alabama. He graduated from Samford University, has his Journeyman Farrier Certification, is a past and current AFA Team member, and competes in numerous contests throughout the world.
This year’s clinic will also be a fundraiser for John Stedelin. Many of you know John, but for those that don’t he is a LLHA member, a former AFA Team member, a farrier/blacksmith, a husband to Michelle, a dad to 7 children, and a great friend, mentor, and supporter to all. In December 2011 John was diagnosed with a grade 3 Oligodendroglioma in the left frontal lobe of his brain. He has had some triumphs and some setbacks along the way, but this year has been extremely difficult. Proceeds from this clinic will be sent to John & his family to assist with their expenses they have accumulated.
Donuts, coffee, lunch, and soda will be provided, although we do ask that you pre-register by Monday, August 7th so that we may get an accurate count for lunch. Door prizes, a silent auction, and other specials will be available for all attendees

9:00 to 12:00p – Live Shoeing of a Horse
12:00p to 1:00 – Lunch
1:00 to 5:00 – Forging and Hands-On
5:00 – end of day
