Polished horseshoe spreader used to spread the heels of horseshoes that are too tight in the heels. Farriers often use a forge and anvil to perform this function, but on some smaller to average size shoes, and aluminum, it is sometimes quite simple and fast to just open the spread in the horse shoes at the heels to make them fit the hoof correctly.
